ScalarGauge™ SG Certus IL
SGCertusIL is an in line, (IL), optical thickness process control monitoring system which utilises a high performance broad-spectrum interferometer that can calculate and display the thickness of two layers simultaneously. The unit is designed to operate in conjunction with a motion bridge and controller to enable testing at specific points whilst traversing back and forth across a production sample.
Although ideally suited to the production testing environment, SGCertusIL can also be used in a laboratory environment. As a laboratory tool the sensor can be placed manually onto the sample under test, and a thickness measurement or short series of measurements can be taken in a matter of seconds.
As with all products in the SGCertus range, the SGCertusIL is a non-contact and non-destructive testing methodology capable of measuring wet or dry coatings. It boasts an impressive thickness measurement range, a highly accurate measurement performance and an extremely fast operational speed. Measurements of multi-layer films or the simultaneous measurement of double-layer films are made easy through the custom software provided with the unit. Software can be stand alone or can be interfaced with existing production control software. There are additional motion control system options available to extend control over 1, 2 or 3 axes.
SGCertusIL can be applied to the measurement of hard coatings on polycarbonate, transparent coatings on sheet metals, semiconductor wafers, coatings on glass, speciality polymers, transparent pigment layers, hard coatings, optical coatings and many other applications.
